Over the next few weeks, the NH State Fire Marshal’s Office will host valuable trainings by guest presenters. Both are free, in-person, and designed to support your transition to NERIS and strengthen your community’s risk‑reduction efforts. Fire departments will benefit from attending both, and we encourage broad community partners to join the Integrated, Whole CRR training (emergency management directors, selectmen, first responders, etc.). NERIS: Making Data Work for You - Thursday, June 4th | 1000–1200
NH Fire Academy (98 Smokey Bear Blvd., Concord, NH)
This UL/FSRI-led session provides a focused overview of the NERIS platform, including onboarding progress, key features, and upcoming updates. Participants will review lessons learned from recent implementations, explore “Ten Things YOU Need to Know About NERIS,” and take part in an open Q&A. The course will be instructed by Chief Tom Jenkins.

Whole, Integrated Community Risk Reduction - Friday, June 12th | 0800–1200
NH Fire Academy (98 Smokey Bear Blvd., Concord, NH)
This free, four‑hour introduction to integrated, whole community risk reduction (IWCRR) includes lessons, case studies, discussions, and group activities. The session is especially valuable when public safety and community leaders from the same community attend together. Participants will gain a stronger understanding of risk reduction, data analysis, and tools for effective local planning.
